ANNAPOLIS, MD (August 24, 2006) - Comptroller William Donald Schaefer today announced that those victims hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama will have until Monday, Oct. 16, 2006, to file their 2004 and 2005 individual state income tax returns, previously due on Aug. 28, 2006.
Affected taxpayers should mark their returns with "Hurricane Katrina" in blue ink at the top of their submissions. Katrina victims in the following counties and parishes are eligible:
ALABAMA: Baldwin, Choctaw, Clarke, Greene, Hale, Marengo, Mobile, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Washington
LOUISIANA: Acadia, Ascension, Assumption, Calcasieu, Cameron, East Baton Rouge, East Feliciana, Iberia, Iberville, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Lafayette, Lafourche, Livingston, Orleans, Plaquemines, Pointe Coupee, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. Helena, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, St. Martin, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne, Vermillion, Washington, West Baton Rouge, West Feliciana
